Watchmoor in the Navy Department
Transferred to the RNO Naval Department on the 1st April 1966 based based at Pembroke Dock via a D606 agreement and removed from British Registry.
In April 1966 Watchmoor was painted in naval colours and then received electrical equipment fitted by Marconi.
On 27th June 1966 Watchmoor was towed by Empire Netta into Holyhead due to engine trouble.
By September 1966 she was to be refitted though, after survey, it was decided to replace her with a 100 foot tender that had mooring capabilities.
During 1967 she spent time as a plane-guard until the Minesweeper Invermoriston was available and then relieved by Miner III.
In December 1967 Watchmoor had her bolier cleaned before being returned to service in January 1968 doing work on RNLI Moorings at Clovelly.
In 1968 Watchmoors Decca and Fulmar equipment were transferred to Miner III and Watchmoor declared surplus to requirements.
