How SHARE works

Museums in the East of England not only contain rich and exciting collections but also a wealth of experience. SHARE is a framework to enable all staff, whether paid or voluntary, to come together to share knowledge and offer practical support and advice. In hard economic times it’s more important than ever that we make best use of our resources, and SHARE is one way of doing this by making it easier to tap into a pool of expertise.

SHARE - A Network of Know-How : How it works ...

How does SHARE work?

SHARE is a network of museum professionals largely drawn from the four museum services that make up the East of England Museum Hub, together with the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. In total they’ve committed nearly 1,000 working days in the coming year to support the region’s museums through training and bespoke support. This ‘Timebank’ of expertise covers an extensive range of subjects across the three categories of
  • Caring for collections
  • Engaging the public and
  • Governance and Management

To see details of the support offered for 2009-2010, click on the Timebank below:

This support is brokered through the SHARE Advisers – museum development staff who already work with the sector throughout the region.
