About Us
The Ipswich Museums art and decorative art collections including some fine marine paintings are housed in this sixteenth century manor house set in a historic park.
The art collection includes oil paintings, water-colours, drawings and prints by Suffolk artists from the 17th century to the present day. There are important works by the Suffolk-born artists Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable. Other notable artists include George Frost, Tom and Edward Smythe, John Moore, Thomas Churchyard, Alfred Munnings, F G Cotman and Philip Wilson Steer.
Ipswich is easily accessible by train, bus or car. The museum is located 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ipswich, 5 minutes walk from the bus station and car parking, 25 minutes walk from the train station.
