Introduction
HMS Beehive was a Royal Naval Coastal Forces Base Commissioned 1 July 1940 and headquartered at Felixstowe Dock in what was the Little Ships Hotel.
Throughout the war the base was host to Motor Torpedo Boats, Motor Gun Boats and Motor Launches.
These vessels saw action in the North Sea off the Dutch, German and French coasts throughout hostilities. In May 1945 they took surrender of German E Boats operating in the area.
The base closed on 1st July 1945
