Photograph of 'Lotion Tar' Bishop, a fisherman in his gansey.

A photograph of 'Lotion Tar' Bishop, a fisherman in his gansey.

This protrait, by photographer Olive Edis, dates from the early years of the 20th Century. 'Lotion Tar' Bishop was a Sheringham fisherman and is wearing a typical Sheringham style gansey, although it is the only example we have recorded of it to date.

Additional Notes

Cromer Museum hopes to exhibit the pioneering photographic work of Olive Edis in the near future.
