Half model of the tug Rector.

The tug Rector.

The Rector was a 106 gross registered ton steel steam tug built in 1916 by Rennie Forrestt at Wivenhoe for William Cory & Sons Ltd of London.  Soon after completion she was requisitioned by the War Office but was returned to her owners in 1919 and remained with them until scrapped in 1954.

This half model has been finished for display in the shipbuilder's offices in order to show potential customers what the yard was capable of building but the outlines of her plates can be clearly seen.
