ESTRALITA proposed appearence
Contributed by Excelsior Trust. Drawing: John Wylson
An elevation and sail plan of ESTRALITA RX8 showing her rig as built, and how she will appear when completed.
ESTRALITA is an East Channel punt with standing and dipping lug rig. This means that the foresail is lowered and passed around the mast every tack, whereas the mizzen lug remains set.
When completed ESTRALITA will make this interesting and powerful rig available to the Excelsior Trust for the more adventurous sailors and historians, and for trainees that wish to become familiar with the rig.
