The bag is 460mm long plus handle, it is possibly of Scandinavian origin.
The bag is 460mm long plus handle, it is possibly of Scandinavian origin.
A ditty bag would be where a sailor would keep his small rope and canvas working tools and other small personal items. This bag is marked with owners initials C.R and the date 1915. Note the red paint used to highlight the detailed knotting, showing others his ability to do this kind of work.
