CONCRETIAN on the slip.
Contributed by Excelsior Trust
CONCRETIAN on the slip at the Excelsior Yard, Lowestoft, in 2005 having been sunk for 55 years.
Slipped for the first time since she was built and found to be in excellent condition after 55 years under the water.
Amazingly the concrete is only 50mm thick. The timber whalings have largely rotted away, but the steel reinforcement was found to be as new.
