Arrival of the St CLEMENTS

Contributed by

Large model of a 16th century ship

This large model of a 16th century fighting ship was donated to our museum in 2007 by the St Clements Hospital, Ipswich. This beautifully detailed work was made entirely by the patients as part of their rehabilitation and it will hopefully form the centrepiece of a future display showing the "Battle of Sole Bay" which took place off Southwold in that era.
